Representative Dursley's Vice Presidential Speech
Hello my fellow Americans. I am Representative Petunia Dursley. I am running for Vice President for the Green Party. I fully support the Green Party and my running mate Lily Potter, the future president of the United States of America.
After attending Cornell University, I joined the Peace Corps and lived in Guatemala for two years where I helped to improve native schools. I was one of about 100 volunteers there and only did I help to improve the communities schools, I helped small communities learn to provide for their families. This was the best decision I have ever made, and it is what helped me to get involved with anti-poverty organizations. It is also where I met my late husband who shared the same beliefs I did in helping other learn to help themselves. The majority of my spare time is spent with my son. Being a single mother is tough work but I never miss a single baseball game. I enjoy going on bike rides, long distance or just around the neighborhood with my son. I enjoy running and hiking. I have completed numerous marathons and recently completed my first triathlon and placed high in my age group.
I strongly support my running mate, Lily Potter and believe that we can better this great nation. Among the major issues we support, the minor issues are just as important. I, as well as Representative Potter, support a carbon tax to create a cleaner Earth. We promote food and water as Basic Human Rights. Everyone has the right to be free from hunger, have adequate food and safe and clean water. We strongly support the legalization of gay marriage. Love is equal and sexual preference should not stop someone from being with the one they love.
