Major Issues
1. Abolish the Electoral College: We believe that the Electoral College hampers the individual’s voice from being heard. Instead, the United States should have direct national elections for president. Whichever candidate receives the most popular votes in all 50 states, and Washington D.C. wins the national election.
2. Legalization of Marijuana: LEGALIZE IT!! We believe that weed should be legalized, taxed, and regulated. This would not only provide more money for the government with the taxation of it, but would also cut down on the amount of money the United States spends on putting people in prison for the nonviolent crime of possession of marijuana.
3. Hemp as a Fuel Substitute: We believe that hemp should be used as a cheap alternative to gas, oil, and other fuels that harm the environment. Hemp is all natural and can be converted into methane, gasoline, etc. at a fraction of the cost of current forms of energy such as oil, coal, and nuclear.

Minor Issues
1. We believe that the main problem the world is facing today is the deterioration of the environment. The Green Party would like to offer solutions to this problem by finding and providing cleaner, greener jobs and moving away from fossil fuels and nuclear energy.
· Encourage conservation of energy and decrease the country’s Energy Consumption.
· Moved towards the country being dependent on solar, wind, geo-thermal, and other clean, renewable energy sources.
· Move towards a transportation system that runs on electricity.
· Solve the problem of nuclear waste disposal by flying all nuclear waste material to the moon where is can be properly disposed of.
2. Carbon Tax: We believe that, in an effort to create a cleaner world, a tax should be placed on the use of carbon. For example, the owners of gas-guzzling SUVs should have a heavy tax placed on them and incentives [such as shiny green (for the Green Party) Schwinn bicycles] should be given to those who drive hybrids and electric cars.
3. Promote Food and Water as Basic Human Rights: Because, more than anything, water is essential to all forms of life, the government must declare it fundamental, just as “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” are.
4. Universal Voting Laws: We believe in the universal right to vote, so we shall enact a national “right to vote” law or amendment to the Constitution that guarantees universal, automatic, and permanent voter registration.
5. Legalize Gay Marriage: We believe that all love is equal. No matter the sexual orientation. All people have the right to many because it upholds the unalienable right to happiness.
